Our mission is to make archery accessible to everyone and help people to grow physically, mentally, and socially through youth, adult, and adaptive archery education.
Average Joes JOAD is a club that features both a youth JOAD and an Adult Achievement program. We have knowledgeable coaches who are ready to help you meet your goals whatever they may be.
We pride ourselves on treating all of our archers equally. Our goal is to help our youth and adults grow in archery and in life.
Average Joes JOAD Club strives to create a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for all of our archers to excel. Our JOAD program is set up to accommodate the needs of both recreational and competitive athletes while keeping all of our archers part of the Average Joes JOAD Team.
Our sessions run for 12 weeks on Monday and Tuesday nights and we offer 3 sessions per year. The fall and winter sessions are shot indoors at Average Joes Archery. For the summer session, we use the Bunker Hills outdoor range. We welcome archers of all levels and offer rental options for those who don’t have their own equipment.
Our Novice group is where we recommend all of our archers start. In this group you will get a feel for how our program runs. We have a strong focus on learning to score, mastering range safety and whistle commands, and working on self confidence and observation skills. You will also learn the basics of the National Training System while practicing mental process and developing a growth mindset.
Once you have learned the skills needed to graduate from the Novice group, we offer an intermediate option. In this group we will continue to build upon what was taught in the Novice group with more detail. We also work hard to develop sportsmanship, physical stamina, and teamwork.
Our advanced archers are athletes who have shown dedication to safety and learning. These athletes know the 11 steps of the National Training System and demonstrate many of the key points. Archers who are ready for this group strive to maintain a growth mindset and are team players. In this group we work on goal setting and a better understanding of form and mental process. We also focus on the importance of self advocacy and positivity.
Our Elite group is our highest level offered. In this group you will work on mastery of the National Training System. This group has a strong focus on solidifying mental process. Archers will learn skills including resilience, mental strength, and self reflection, while focusing on the importance of positive self talk and affirmations.
